Tourist Guidelines & Safety Tips
In your hotel
- Lock your valuables in the safety box at the reception or in your room safe
- Inform the reception manager if you lose your key or key card
- Make sure that the room is locked properly when you leave the hotel
- Always take the hotel business card with you when you go outside to help you remember the name, address and telephone number of your hotel
Excursions
- When you go hiking or on a trip to the desert try to stay with the group
- Pack a first-aid kit in any case
On the beach
- Always comply with warning signs
- Only swim at approved beaches that are supervised by lifeguards
- Do not leave your valuables or belongings unattended
- Never leave a child unattended or unsupervised by an adult
Out and About
- Keep your bag and wallet where you can see them
- Do not carry large sums of cash, most international credit and debit cards are widely accepted
- Keep large amounts of money, expensive jewellery, cameras and smart phones out of sight from strangers
- Ensure that money withdrawal or exchanging money is done privately
- Refrain from public displays of affection (excessive touching, kissing etc.)
- Lock your vehicle and never leave valuables in plain view
- Don’t accept lifts from strangers, always use licensed taxis or other public transportation
